Dove Purely Pampering Body Wash review

``A shower experience that leaves you and your skin feeling restored and nourished.``

That`s the slogan for Dove`s newly launched Purely Pampering line. I don`t believe a body wash can do so much. I was out of body wash and they were on sale for CAD3.99. The ingredients lists also looked decent. Most important of all, they smelled damn gooodddd!!

Claims
Dove Shea Butter with Warm Vanilla scent body wash blended with NutriumMoisture nutrients creates a gentle cloud of creamy lather that fills your shower with a warm scent, helping you feel balanced and renewed. Dove Body Wash with NutriumMoisture gently cleanses while nourishing deep down, giving your skin our best care. Caring for yourself never felt so good.

My experience:
This smells delish! A mix of vanilla and soapy floral. This might even replace my favorite vanilla body wash, Olay Vanilla Indulgence!

This lathered easily. Made my skin soft and clean without leaving any residue.
Claims
Dove Almond Cream with Hibiscus body wash blended with NutriumMoisture nutrients creates a gentle cloud of creamy lather that fills your shower with a soothing scent, to help leave you in a beautiful state of mind. Caring for yourself never felt so good.

My experience:
This is my favorite scent of all! The scent is a soapy sweet floral. Smells so sexy LOL!

This has a thicker consistency than the above and produced a frothy lather. It is also a lot more moisturizing. Perfect for the ruthless winter weather!

Conclusion

100%
Overall, I loved both and definitely recommend them! I feel like this line exceeds your expectations from a drugstore body wash. These could easily surpass many highend body washes!

PMS & Menstruation Cramps: More MUST READ Tips!

  1. DO NOT DRINK OR EAT ANYTHING COLD DURING YOUR PERIOD!!! I can't stress this enough. Hot, warm or room temperature is the way to go.

My cramps were practically 90% cured. I was socially obligated to attend a few parties the past weekend, so even though I tried to avoid, but I had a few mixed drinks.... Usually I only drink wine at this time of the month but that option wasn't available the past weekend.... ughhh! Within the hour of drinking, I had cramps. I wanted to puke and I was cold sweating! It was not fun... (Trust me, I can take my alcohol, so that was not the issue for sure.)

Seriously ladies! Chinese doctors weren't bullsh!tting when they said NO COLD DRINKS/FOOD during your period. This rule had been known for centuries and it's been passed on for a reason! This is basic common sense in the Asian community so I hope others, whether Asian or not, would know this too. By common sense, I mean even many Asian men knows this LOL.
  1. For those who takes painkillers, I recommend Advil aka ibuprofen. It's the one that most doctors recommend. Not Midol, not Tylenol, etc. It's Advil that relieves pain the best.
  2. I was also informed by my doctor that if my flow is too much, extra doses of Advil can help cut down the flow. Extra dosage but not exceeding six 200mg capsules in one day though!
  1. I am not a person who prefers or recommends painkillers because they do not cure or help the root of the problem. I rarely take them unless I am dying. It's only a temporary fix. For a true "fix", I recommend reading my other PMS & Menstrual Cramps Tutorial & Tips. There you will find a way to really cure your PMS and cramps.
  2. Jujube dates, Longan fruit and Ginger tea is a good drink to sip on during your period. In Chinese medicine,  Jujube helps nourish blood and replenish energy. It's the most important of the three. A lot of times I just make the tea by boiling Jujubes only. Longan calms the nervous system and promotes better sleep. Ginger helps warm up the body and calms all discomforts. Both Jujubes and Longans are sweet tasting. It is easy on the palate and a comforting treat. All three ingredients are very common that can be easily found at your local Asian supermarkets.
I am practically the guru of PMS and Menstrual Cramps. I had a long history with it and well, eventually you learn a thing or two or everything... -_-" I am not a doctor though. I am only speaking from experience. I am sharing this information hoping it could make use for others too. Hope this helps sone ;)

iHerb haul #2

These are new to me so why not give it a try! These are yummooo! They are nickel sized little cookies loaded with sunflower seeds! Offers a nice crunch and flavor~ Already chowed down half a bag right after getting my order! Loving this healthy snack ^-^

My skin and hair are getting dryer and dryer! I am in dire need of some moisture... even Hyaluronic Acid serums are not working enough for me... hopefully this giant bottle of glycerin will work *fingers crossed!*
This is supposedly the King of all Probiotics! It's hella expensive compared to other brands. But they say they take 3 years to ferment fruits and vegetables to produce this... Can't wait to try this ^o^

This is my HG deodorant! It holds up in the most crazy humid weather in Hong Kong where you sweat 24/7! It comes in many fragrances but I prefer fragrance free. I don't want it to clash with my perfumes and yummy lotions. It is very cheap for $4. and it lasts me forever. What more can you ask for?! Well fine... one small complaint... it takes quite a while to dry so you must put it on early before you dress up.

A popular super antioxidant that's supposed to help with my eyes and skin! I desperately need help with my eyes cause of all that time spent on my phone and computer -_-

PS. Use coupon code "CEW431" for $5 off your first order or $10 off on orders $40+ at iHerb.com!

Canmake Perfect Serum BB Cream Light #01 Light review

Claims
  • The BB cream born from beauty serum☆
  •  A light version with natural coverage!
  •  Contains 21 types of beautifying ingredients.Natural coverage creates moist, silky, baby-soft skin ♥
    SPF50 & PA+++, with a formulation that's gentle on your skin ♥
  •  Light, whisper-soft texture! Barely-there feeling, as though you aren't wearing any make-up!Your skin feels moisturized even after removing your make-up☆
My experience

I got this from Ichibankao.com. It costs about $5 more than its original price in Japan. Pretty good deal considering international shipping included! I ordered with regular airmail and it arrived within 5 days! Way faster than my packages from the US. Isn't that sad .... Ugh!

I've been lemming this the moment I knew this was coming out. I didn't get it till now cause I had no faith with any liquid type base products.... I find them all to emphasize my dryness :(

The shade #01 Light is a peach toned NC15. No pinkiness here at all. It has an airy light texture that blends easily without any greasiness. It has light to medium coverage that evens out my complexion well. It highlights my dryness minimally compared to other foundations and bb creams. I get no irritation even after wearing this all day. I also love how this has Zinc Oxide as the 2nd ingredient and SPF 50 PA+++. I can use this as an all in one base on my lazy days ;P

Ingredients

dimethicone, zinc oxide, water, BG, ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, Cyclopentasiloxane, PEG-9 dimethicone poly butyldimethylsiloxy ethyl, synthetic phlogopite, glycerin, glyceryl (acid / behenic acid Eikosan'ni) dimethicone hydrogensulfate (vinyl dimethicone / methicone silsesquioxane) crosspolymer, pentylene glycol, Mechirugurusesu -10, poly methyl silsesquioxane, sorbitan sesquiisostearate, hydrogenated starch hydrolysis, glycosyl trehalose, α-arbutin, ceramide 3, ectoine, ascorbyl tetra hexyldecanoate, Kaninabara fruit extract, prune hydrolyzate, hydrolyzed silk, saxifrage extract, cherry leaf extract, ginkgo biloba extract, witch hazel leaf extract, fruit extract polyantha, downy birch bark extract, hyaluronic acid Na, peach leaf extract, Coix extract, Fucus extract, aloe vera leaf extract, royal jelly extract, Daizuekisu, soluble collagen, arch choke leaf extract, stearyl glycyrrhetinic acid, tocopherol, Mg sulfate, phenoxyethanol, titanium dioxide, talc, iron oxide, alumina

Conclusion
90%!

It's pretty much perfect!
The only thing I would change is to make it pure physical sunscreen but not biggie ;)

Kiss Me Heroine Make Smooth Liquid Eyeliner review

Claims

  • With tiny and sharp eyeliner tip (0.1mm).
  • Allows you to draw fine and delicate eye lines.
  • Its waterproof contents are great to avoid flaking and smearing, creating a lasting makeup effect.
  • With chamomile and saxifrage extracts, the liquid liner nourishes your skin at the same time.

  • My experience

I am a big fan of Heroine Make's mascaras but no love for this... This is one of the worst liquid eyeliner I've ever used. This eyeliner makes my eyes teary every time I use it. I definitely gave it enough chances to make sure this was the culprit. I've never had any reactions to any eye makeup before.

Even performance wise it sucked! It does create a solid fine black line so points for that. It is not waterproof as it claims though, so that's basically useless to me. I like my eye makeup to last through rain, snow and Armageddon.

    EPIC FAIL!

This was just water and a few rubs...

    Conclusion

    30%
There are way better eyeliners out there.

PMS & Menstruation Cramps: My Cure!

This is going to be a long post but it's well worth your time. Trust me!

I have had issues with my period for as long as I can remember. I remember I would get cramps so severe that I would black out every month! I saw many Chinese herb doctors and ate a crap load of disgusting meds before it got better. In recent years, my cramps were still bad but less severe. On the other hand, my PMS gotten worse. I would get incredibly depressed that I just wanted to cry all day. My appetite sky rockets. The worst part is I would get a fever about a week before my period comes. Yes, a fever every fricking month!

I've seriously tried every med available and finally I found a method that helps 85% of my PMS and cramps! Not 100% but you have no idea how many methods didn't work at all...

I did my research and both of these supplements help with "dysmenorrhea" aka. menstrual cramps. They are supplements and not medication. They contain no hormones and will not have any effect on hormones either. I have taken many recommended herbs that messed up my hormones and broke me out like crazy!

I took a capsule of each supplement each day... Well I admit I skipped quite a few days in between. ;P After about a month, when that time came again, I didn't get that fever! I still had a bit of the flu like symptoms but nothing severe. After two months, my flu like symptoms were practically nonexistent and my depression subsided when that time came.

Sorry to be graphic but I must mention this... It helped my period become healthy bright red. I used to have dark blood clots. In Chinese medical terms, that's bruised blood aka hemorrhage. It's a sign of bad circulation and simply not healthy because it meant the flow was not fluid. Which I think it makes sense because I assume fresh blood should be fluid and red.

As for cramps, my tummy barely hurts now. Say it's a 10 when I used to blackout from it, now it's a 2. My back pain would be a 3.

    Pycnogenol
Pycnogenol aka. French Maritime Pine bark Extract is a super antioxidant that helps to provide protection from cell-damaging free radicals. It has a plethora of benefits but I can't vouch for them so I won't list them. Many people takes this simply to keep them feeling and looking younger. Do read the customer reviews on iHerb and see what it does for them.

Lots of people mentioned younger skin with use! I absolutely agree cause I party a lot. I have good genes to begin with but I never get enough sleep so that takes a toll on my skin. My skin doesn't look as ruddy as before and I don't even get that monthly pimple nowadays!

I do take this in the morning or afternoon because I find most antioxidants who helps you feel better, most likely have properties that keeps you awake. I don't know if Pycnogenol has such properties but I take it earlier just in case.

    Calcium

I don't consume dairy products normally nowadays except for ice cream and cheese LOL. So I know I could always use more calcium in my diet. This brand was recommended by my aunt who's in the pharmaceutical industry. I like how this can be taken any time of the day.

As usual, I purchase my supplements from iHerb cause it's the cheapest! You can use coupon CEW431 for $10 off your first $40+ order and $5 off for less than $40 orders. Don't forget to choose your freebie!

Both of these supplements have no weird taste nor after taste. Of course results will vary with individuals. I am not saying this is THE cure... but definitely worth a try because both of these supplements are good for you anyway! I just want to share my experience with the ladies who's also suffering from such pain and hopefully this will help YOU! <3

Online Shopping Tips & Tutorial... MUST READ!

I am a true shopaholic... I crave the high that I get when I buy something. I make my purchases mostly online because the world wide web has much more to offer then the pathetic selection we have here locally. Hope these tips will come in handy for your upcoming holiday shopping :)

    Google Image Reverse Search

This tool is pure genius! It is a simple tool that lets you search the images reversely on Google Images and find the other copies of the very image you are looking for on the web.

You just copy your image's URL and paste it in Google Image Search. You see that little camera on the right? Click on that! All the websites using that same image will show up! Now you know where other stores have your item available! Hopefully, you found a cheaper place too XD

    Be realistic

Look at the pictures carefully. Does the item really flatter the model? If it doesn't look good on the model, then chances are it will look worse in person.

I must emphasize that you need to pay attention to the piece of clothing/accessory itself and not the gorgeous lighting, hair, and makeup that goes with it. Sometimes you get sucked into how gorgeous the overall picture is instead of the item you are interested in. Remember these pictures were taken with fancy cameras and probably photoshopped some more.

Also, keep in mind your appearance is probably very different from the model. So do look in a mirror and picture yourself with the item. Use that imagination of yours. You sure it will look good on you??

    Keep a Shopping List

I always have a notepad of things I want. ( You can use whatever tool to keep record ) I have a long list LOL! Honestly, these are mostly beauty products or other nonessential items. You have to remind yourself, you don't need this now, you can wait. Why wait? For a sale, of course! So basically, I only shop when there's a sale. And if there's a great sale, I'll stock up for future needs aka. hoarding HAHA! So my last and most important tip is to keep a shopping list and wait for a sale!

    HAPPY SHOPPING! :)

Easy peasy two ingredients pancake recipe!

Yes you heard me right! This pancake requires only two ingredients that every kitchen have! The best part is this is very healthy!

    Ingredients
    1 banana
    1 egg
    That's it!

    Directions
Mash up the banana in a bowl with a fork. Add the egg and mix well. Fry in medium heat till both sides are golden brown. Voila! Yummy nutritious pancakes in less than 15 mins ^_^

This is my new fav breakfast! It is too yummy and too easy to make! I know it is kind of unbelievable but it really does taste like a fluffy pancake! This yields 2 - 3 pancakes. I add a spoonful of peanut butter on top and just let that melt....then drizzle on some honey to sweeten up my morning :p

*Sorry guys! I am trying real hard to get a picture!! But every time I would chow it down before I have a chance... I'll update ASAP!

    Koji Curving Eyelash Curler review

This is the Mother of all Curlers! Move aside Shu's and Shiseido's!

The shape of this curler is much less curved horizontally than most brands, therefore, it fits Asian and hooded eyelids much, much better! It's a HG for me cause it fits so well so that I can get deep into the roots without pinching! You must try it to understand the greatness!

Most curlers is flat vertically but this one is actually curved. This also helps fit our Asians' and hooded eyes' needs. See how it fans out the lashes nicely? Seriously, RUN, don't walk to buy this NOW!

It comes with two refill pads and a case designed for it. Lol I have no idea why it needs a special case... This miracle worker is a repeat purchase of mine so I have a few of those cases collecting dust now XD

    Conclusion

    100%
HG all the way!! I hope they never discontinue this!

Secret Key Snail + EGF Repairing Cream review

    Claims
    • Improve troubles skin for soft skin.
    • Provides a healthier and firmer skin.
    • Lanoline shield with moisture for moisturized skin.
    • Non-germ pork placenta protects from environment.
    My experience

This costs $4.92 at KoreaDepart.com!!! Although it is the cheapest snail cream I've ever seen, it also has one of the best ingredients lists I've ever seen too! Honestly, I care more about quality than price and this ingredient list looks better to me than most brands including, It's Skin, Missha, TonyMoly, Elicina, etc.

It is a medium thickness cream that leaves no stickiness behind. Not too light and not greasy at all. It keeps my super dry skin decently moisturized. I prefer greasy moisturizers but this should be perfect for most normal and dry skins.

*Will update late with a picture to show the thickness of the cream!

    Ingredients

Aqua, Snail Secretion Filtrate, Glycerol, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Tremella fuciformis, Berk., Oryza sativa, Caviar Extract, Carbopol, Triethanoamine, Oleth-5, Glyceryl Stearate, Adeps Lanae, Oleth-10, Huile Minerale, Polyacrylamide, Laureth-7, Sodium Polyacrylate, Nonoxynol-12, EDTA, Methyl Parahydroxybenzoate, Parfum, Placenta, C1314

    Conclusion

     95%!
What more could you ask for for the cost of a latte! :D
