PMS & Menstruation Cramps: More MUST READ Tips!

  1. DO NOT DRINK OR EAT ANYTHING COLD DURING YOUR PERIOD!!! I can't stress this enough. Hot, warm or room temperature is the way to go.

My cramps were practically 90% cured. I was socially obligated to attend a few parties the past weekend, so even though I tried to avoid, but I had a few mixed drinks.... Usually I only drink wine at this time of the month but that option wasn't available the past weekend.... ughhh! Within the hour of drinking, I had cramps. I wanted to puke and I was cold sweating! It was not fun... (Trust me, I can take my alcohol, so that was not the issue for sure.)

Seriously ladies! Chinese doctors weren't bullsh!tting when they said NO COLD DRINKS/FOOD during your period. This rule had been known for centuries and it's been passed on for a reason! This is basic common sense in the Asian community so I hope others, whether Asian or not, would know this too. By common sense, I mean even many Asian men knows this LOL.
  1. For those who takes painkillers, I recommend Advil aka ibuprofen. It's the one that most doctors recommend. Not Midol, not Tylenol, etc. It's Advil that relieves pain the best.
  2. I was also informed by my doctor that if my flow is too much, extra doses of Advil can help cut down the flow. Extra dosage but not exceeding six 200mg capsules in one day though!
  1. I am not a person who prefers or recommends painkillers because they do not cure or help the root of the problem. I rarely take them unless I am dying. It's only a temporary fix. For a true "fix", I recommend reading my other PMS & Menstrual Cramps Tutorial & Tips. There you will find a way to really cure your PMS and cramps.
  2. Jujube dates, Longan fruit and Ginger tea is a good drink to sip on during your period. In Chinese medicine,  Jujube helps nourish blood and replenish energy. It's the most important of the three. A lot of times I just make the tea by boiling Jujubes only. Longan calms the nervous system and promotes better sleep. Ginger helps warm up the body and calms all discomforts. Both Jujubes and Longans are sweet tasting. It is easy on the palate and a comforting treat. All three ingredients are very common that can be easily found at your local Asian supermarkets.
I am practically the guru of PMS and Menstrual Cramps. I had a long history with it and well, eventually you learn a thing or two or everything... -_-" I am not a doctor though. I am only speaking from experience. I am sharing this information hoping it could make use for others too. Hope this helps sone ;)
